St. Vincent (Night) College of Commerce is a Minority College managed by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) catering to the needs of the working students who work during the day and undertake to educate themselves in the Evening. Since its inception, the Society of Jesus has been active in the field of education throughout the world. Worldwide, the Society of Jesus is responsible for over 665. Educational Institutions in about 65 countries, engaging the efforts of approximately 70,000 teachers and educating
approximately 15,00,000 students every year. In India, the Society of Jesus is responsible for over 110 High Schools, 24 University Colleges and 14 Technical Institutes. St. Vincent (Night) College of Commerce was set up primarily to offer an opportunity to working youth, who wished to pursue their higher studies while continuing to work. It was started initially as a ‘Degree College’ to which, later, the ‘Junior College’ and ‘M.Com’ were added. The College adheres to the Jesuit hallmark of an all-round, value-based and disciplined approach to education. Over the years St. Vincent College of Commerce has emerged as a center of excellence in the field of commerce education. The College was started in 1970 and stands affiliated to the Savitribai Phule Pune University. St. Vincent College’s name is found on Pune University Website under the page Colleges & Institutions.
